As per the latest reports out of South Korea, Samsung is likely going to decide next month when to begin mass production of the Galaxy Ring. There's an expectation that it could begin in the month of August itself.
Samsung is reportedly close to nailing down the final version of the Galaxy Ring with its domestic and international parts suppliers. It's said that the company hasn't decided when it's going to start mass production. Once everything is finalized with the suppliers, the results will then be reported to MX division boss TM Roh who will likely sign off on when the production is to begin.
The report also mentions that even if the mass production of the Galaxy Ring begins in August, it may not be possible for the device to release before 2024. The Galaxy Ring will need to obtain medical device certification for its health and fitness tracking features, much like the Galaxy Watch, and that process takes several months.
Going by this expected timeline, it's quite possible that we may see the Galaxy Ring being launched alongside the Galaxy S24 series next year. Though as we've already pointed out, it would have been nice to get a teaser of some sort at the Unpacked event this week. It feels like a missed opportunity for Samsung to get some hype for this product. That's besides the fact that this was the first Unpacked event held in Samsung's home base of Seoul, South Korea.
